UK Holds Digital Britain Summit - Preparing for the Digital Future Today |
April, 2009
250 leading players from media, music, telecoms and technology industries debate today on how to equip Britain for a digital future. Prime Minister Gordon Brown in his keynote address said a digital revolution "lies at the heart" of Britain's economic recovery and emphasised the important role broadband and the media industry can play in pulling the UK out of recession. Communications minister Lord Carter is heading the government's Digital Britain project and will publish a final report in July, expected to lead to new legislation.
